What to Know Before Attending the Lake Mission Viejo Summer Concert Series

The Lake Mission Viejo Summer Concert Series is one of the most anticipated traditions of the year for residents, bringing live music, beautiful lake views, and a fun community atmosphere throughout the summer. Concerts typically run from mid-June through Labor Day weekend and begin with an opening act at 7:00 p.m.

Admission Information

Concerts are exclusive to Lake Mission Viejo members and their guests. Members must bring their physical Lake Mission Viejo ID badge, as it serves as their admission ticket. Entry will not be permitted without a valid Lake ID.

Guest Policies

Members may bring up to four guests per household to North Beach on concert days, including children. Guest passes are available for $20 per person, and all guests must enter alongside the member sponsoring them.

For those attending from East Beach, standard guest policies and fees remain in effect.

Parking and Accessibility

Parking fills quickly on concert nights, but passenger drop-off is available once the main lot reaches capacity. Additional parking can be found on nearby city streets and at Youth Athletic Park across Olympiad Road.

Accessible parking and seating accommodations are available for guests who need them. Lake staff members are available to assist with accessibility questions or arrangements.

Visitors arriving by boat should review the Lake's docking procedures before concert day.

What to Bring

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and low-profile beach chairs for seating. To help protect the lawn, only small blankets and towels are permitted, while tarps and vinyl-backed blankets are prohibited.

Only short beach chairs are allowed in the concert area, with standard-height chairs reserved for designated accessible seating sections.

Concert Rules

To ensure everyone enjoys the event, the following items and activities are not permitted:

  • Glass containers

  • Personal barbecues or grills

  • Pets

  • Smoking

  • Tents or canopies after 6:00 p.m.

Guests should also keep walkways clear during performances and help maintain the venue by cleaning up after themselves.

Boat Rental Schedule on Concert Days

Boat rental hours are adjusted on concert days.

  • Kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and rowboats may be rented until 5:00 p.m. and must be returned by 6:00 p.m.

  • Larger vessels, including party boats, must be rented by 2:00 p.m. and returned by 3:00 p.m.

How to Reserve the Best Seating

There are two ways to claim your spot for the concert.

Option 1: Participate in the Early Morning Seating Lottery

For those hoping to secure premium seating in the concert bowl area, Lake Mission Viejo offers an optional early morning lottery.

Gates open at 6:00 a.m. on concert days, and members receive randomly numbered wristbands shortly after arrival. Once all participants have received wristbands, groups are selected in random order to enter the concert bowl and reserve their space.

Members may place one blanket to hold their location, but chairs cannot be brought into the concert area until the lottery process has concluded.

Option 2: Arrive Later in the Day

If you prefer a more relaxed approach, you can arrive anytime after 8:00 a.m. and place a blanket or towel in an available location. You can also simply arrive closer to concert time.

Keep in mind that the later you arrive, the farther your seating location may be from the stage, which can affect both visibility and sound quality.

Enjoy a Summer Tradition

Whether you're attending your first Lake Mission Viejo concert or continuing a long-standing family tradition, the Summer Concert Series offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy live entertainment in one of Mission Viejo's most scenic settings. Arrive early, plan ahead, and get ready for another unforgettable summer at the lake.
